Project meeting for the BMFTR initiative “Do AI Yourself (DAIY)” in Bremen

The BMFTR DAIY project evaluates pilot projects and expands capacity-building measures for small and medium-sized enterprises.

On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the consortium meeting for the research project “Do AI Yourself (D-AI-Y),” funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR), took place at Armbruster Engineering GmbH & Co. KG in Bremen. The goal of the project is to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the commercial use of cloud-based AI services.

The meeting focused on testing the toolbox developed in the project using the project partners’ pilot projects. The results to date were presented, leading to a discussion on what insights could be derived from them for the further development of the toolbox and its practical application in SMEs. In addition, a workshop on company-specific capacity-building measures was held, during which the partners explored how companies can be specifically supported in developing their own AI competencies.

Afterward, Armbruster Engineering hosted a tour of the company, during which the worker assistance systems were demonstrated live. This gave the project partners direct insight into how AI-based support systems are already being used in everyday business operations today.

The meeting once again underscored the importance of close collaboration between research and industry for successful digitalization in small and medium-sized enterprises.
