Project meeting of the BMFTR project "Do AI Yourself (DAIY)" in Bochum

Last Thursday, 05.02.2026, the consortium meeting of the research project "Do AI Yourself (D-AI-Y)" funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) took place at the Center for the Engineering of Smart Product-Service Systems (ZESS). The aim of the project is to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the economic use of AI services from the cloud.
The meeting focused on the further development of a practice-oriented toolbox to help SMEs integrate their own AI-as-a-Service offerings into their business models in the future. The project partners, including scientists from Ruhr University Bochum and the TU Dortmund University, discussed specific functions of the toolbox and how these can be implemented interactively. Two new partners, Armbruster Engineering and Infosim, were also welcomed to the consortium.
The meeting marked an important milestone in the course of the project and once again underlined the importance of close cooperation between research and industry for successful digitalization in SMEs.
