We are at HICSS 2025!
The Hawaii International Conference on System Science (HICSS) is a prestigious information systems conference ranked "B" in VHB JOURQUAL 4. HICSS takes place from 07.01.25 to 10.01.25 on Big Island, Hawaii. Dr. Philip Stahmann will present three papers:
1. Lenssen, L., Stahmann, P., Janiesch, C., & Schubert, E. (2025). Archetype Discovery from Taxonomies: A Method to Cluster Small Datasets of Categorical Data.
The paper deals with the problem of insufficient clustering procedures and evaluation methods for small categorical data sets using the application example of archetype creation based on taxonomies. The paper is nominated for best paper as the best in mini-track paper "Data Science and Machine Learning to Support Business Decisions".
2. Stahmann, P., Röver, J., Ciftci, S., Rodda, A., & Janiesch, C. (2025). Opportunities and Challenges for AI-supported Business Intelligence Systems-A Delphi Study.
In the paper, potentials and challenges of the use of artificial intelligence in business intelligence are surveyed and evaluated by experts.
3. Zemke, H., Stahmann, P., & Janiesch, C. (2025). Leveraging Generative Artificial Intelligence for Design Thinking in Creative Processes: A Literature Review.
In the paper, the potential of generative artificial intelligence to support creative processes is surveyed and critically reflected on the basis of a company case study.
We are looking forward to presenting our research and exchanging ideas with the global Information Systems community in Hawaii!
