Our milestone meeting took place on July 8 at Otto-Hahn-Straße 14 in Dortmund

As part of our D-AI-Y project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), a consortium meeting with our valued project partners took place on July 8, 2025.

This time, we at TU Dortmund University were able to prove our hospitality and welcome the consortium to the computer science building at Otto-Hahn-Straße 14.

A central point of the meeting was the presentation of the results of the first two milestones of the project. First, the project partners presented the business models they had developed, which were designed on the basis of customer discussions and with the help of proven tools such as the Value Proposition Canvas. We from TU Dortmund University then presented archetypal implementation concepts that provide a structured basis for the use of AI-as-a-Service technologies in industrial companies.

Another highlight of the project meeting was the presentation by Prof. Dr. Thorsten B. Behling on the topic "EU AI Act - Obligations and opportunities for companies and SMEs in the dual role of provider and operator of AI systems". In his presentation and the subsequent discussion round, the effects of the EU AI Act on small and medium-sized enterprises were highlighted, especially with regard to the development of AI-as-a-Service-based business models.

We would like to thank our partners for their dedicated participation and productive exchange. With the results presented, we are well prepared for the next steps in the D-AI-Y project and look forward to continuing to develop innovative solutions together!
