Process Autonomization: Rethinking Business Process Management
Christian Janiesch, Marek Kowalkiewicz, & Michael Rosemann
"Process autonomization extends classic process automation with the concept of artificial autonomy. Process autonomization enables tasks beyond fixed rules and requires goals, resources, and constraints instead of static process models. The article includes a conceptual framework and introduces a new way of thinking BPM."
Levels of Automation Revisited: Standardizing Human-Machine Interaction with Process Patterns
Christian Janiesch & Seyyid A. Ciftci
"Intelligent systems based on machine learning make it possible to automate complex work probabilistically. This brings monitoring and control and the design of human-machine interaction into focus. Process patterns can enable a structured balance between efficiency, control, and safety. This article contains 12 such patterns."
