Update for the summer semester 2024

Prof. Janiesch is on a research sabbatical in 2024 but teaching in Dortmund continues for the most part

Dear students,

The winter semester is drawing to a close and the first exams have been written. We would like to take this opportunity to give you a small preview of the summer semester 2024 so that you can prepare for minor changes and our courses in good time, as Prof. Janiesch is on a research sabbatical and the Chair of Enterprise Computing will therefore only be able to offer reduced teaching.

Nevertheless, we will do our best to guarantee you an attractive teaching program.

  • Specifically, Philip Stahmann will be responsible for the lecture and tutorial "IT Management (ITM)" in the Master's program. So you can expect "business as usual" with a little "same same but different".
  • The lectures "Business Process Management (BPM)" and "Business Information Systems (BIS) " will both be offered as recorded lectures based on the previous semesters and will be supervised by the chair's staff with the usual face-to-face exercises and assignements. This means that there will be no live lectures, but the rest will take place in the usual way.
  • We will also continue to supervise theses in the usual way. However, (pro-)seminars will only take place again in the winter semester.

Please also note that in the future, BPM will run in the summer semester and BIS will run in the winter semester. Both courses will therefore swap terms in preparation for the upcoming Information Systems degree program.

As usual, you will soon find further details in the Teaching section. Until then, we wish you a good exam preparation and hopefully a relaxing lecture-free period.
